Special fundraising events continue to increase and enhance the Borgess Foundation’s profile in the community. They also contribute financial support and public awareness for Borgess programs. In 2010 we will host three success and fun events.
Friends of Borgess Nursing Endowment Awards Dinner – May 11, 2010
The Friends of Borgess Nursing Endowment Fund was established in 2006 to honor and remember the legacy of outstanding nursing within Borgess Health. Every year Borgess nurses are recognized for nursing excellence, leadership, education and research. Proceeds from the sponsorships, silent auction and dinner reservations exceeded $32,000 in 2010, contributing more than $118,000 to the Friends of Borgess Nursing endowment fund. The endowment goal is $250,000.
19th Annual Borgess Golf for Health Monday – July 19, 2010
With 108 golfers, the 19th Annual Borgess Golf for Health on July 19 raised money to help fund ongoing renovations to Borgess Medical Center’s Level I Emergency & Trauma Center. Proceeds from the event sponsorships, raffle tickets and golfer registrations exceeded $27,000 this year, since 1991 event proceeds have contributed more than $300,000 to many different programs within Borgess Health.
Tree of Love Tree Lighting Ceremony – December 7, 2010
The 25th Annual Tree of Love campaign honors many individuals and organizations. This fundraising initiative supports uninsured and underinsured women’s medical services with a focus on breast cancer throughout Borgess Health. More than $29,000 was raised in 2009 with support from generous sponsors and donors.
Touchdown for Diabetes, September 9, 2010
Touchdown for Diabetes will take place September 9, 2010 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. The evening will include a tailgate dinner from Outback Steakhouse, a silent auction, lots of great door prizes and a chance for the grand prize of either a new car or $20,000 in cash.
The proceeds from this event will go towards funding the service for uninsured persons at the Borgess Diabetes Center.
Touchdown for Diabetes will be a night of fun, good food, a chance to mingle and have a wonderful time while helping a great cause.
